Have teeth, will scream!

Another busy week and weekend. Billy and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Year 4 is traditionally celebrated with fruit and flowers. We went to restaurant Eve in Alexandria and left Henry in Mary Caroline's loving care. When we arrived at the restaurant there was the most spectacular flower arrangement on the table and a beautiful pair of flower earrings. Restaurant Eve, Flowers...get it? My husband thinks of everything. Although it was wonderful enjoying a grown-up meal, we were home and ready for bed by 10pm. Henry, unfortunately, had other plans. Here's a picture of us after dinner with our bright-eyed TWO-(yep, two)TOOTHED "monster".

Just as the picture suggests, we were up "entertaining" Mr. Ouchie-Gums until the wee hours. We learned that the fun began an hour or so after we left. Mary Caroline explained that she tried to soothe him by singing but couldn't think of any lullabies, so she sang Christmas Carols (how sweet is that?). I think when we arrived home our little elf was looking for the presents and with only empty hands, well, you can only imagine what happened next...
A gold star goes to the first person who can tell me
which item in this picture was most appreciated by both
mommy and daddy.
Hint: it was used at 2am.

Thursday and Friday Henry acted as if nothing had happened. Back to his normal cheery self, we spent the day at the pool on Thursday. Friday we went to DC with every intention of checking out the portrait gallery. Once we found a parking spot, went to visit daddy and ate lunch, it was rush hour and time to go home. Okay, portrait gallery next week, for now here's a "portrait" of Henry and daddy with the Kings of Hollywood.

Saturday we went to Brady's birthday party. We were only a little late as Henry decided to take a long nap and there was no way I was going to subject Brady's family with Henry's rendition of "Psycho"(think shower scene) nor did I want to have to sing Christmas Carols or anything else for that matter in front of non-family members. As it turned out, they waited to have the birthday cake until we got there. Actually, I don't think it was on our account, but we appreciated it as we (meaning, me) gobbled up the cool Elmo cake. Before cake Henry and Brady played on the floor, or rather, Henry licked Brady's toys while Brady looked on thinking, "who invited these tacky people and why is this short person eating my toy?". Here's a shot of Henry thinking like a true Mayer (if you lick it, it's yours) and Brady looking on with other plans. The next picture is my favorite where Brady's decided to take matters in to his own hands and feet and body! Now that's thinking like a true one-year-old! Henry then realizes that there's a camera and is thinking, "what toy?". Did I mention he's a typical Mayer?

From Brady's birthday party we went to meet Aunt Pam at the pool after stopping by the house to pick up some margaritas. Well that 's all I'll say about that.

Yes, that is water in his sippy-cup and no, he did not get any of mommy's margarita!
Sunday was spent in DC. Church, pool then to Hank's Oyster Bar. Henry liked Hank's almost as much as Bistro Du Coin!
