Henry will be taking his first plane ride a bit sooner than we anticipated. Unfortunately my grandma, Jane Dugan Mayer, died on Tuesday and we will be going to her funeral in Kansas City. She was a great lady with a fantastic sense of humor. Sadly, sometimes years went by before I was able to see her. Billy and I did travel to KC two summers ago so she was able to meet him.
It is a blessing that weddings and funerals bring family together, so I guess we can celebrate that. It will be great to see my cousins, and my dad's family and to introduce them to Henry. Henry is named after my grandfather who was John Henry Mayer, Jr. My dad was the III and my brother the IV!
So the day was spent rearranging appointments, doing laundry and packing. Henry rode around like a little marsupial in our new Moby! Very cool-he loves it and it is much more comfortable than the sling (picture forthcoming).
Well, wish us luck-my first journey into traveling with a little one-and all his THINGS. Billy is unable to go so it's just the two of us (I'm not nervous)...
