What to report? Last week Billy and I decided to attempt the TRANSITION TO THE CRIB. The first night actually went pretty well. Henry slept for about four hours before waking up, ate, then fell back to sleep. We went into his room after we heard the 4am squawk to find that he'd rolled over!! Not sure how I feel about that; his face was crammed up against the crib rails! We straightened him out and he fell back asleep-for 2 hours.
I think the first night may have gone well as he had had a full day and was exhausted. The next couple of night was spent going to his crib every two hours! I'm sure the "more mature" audience (my mother) will be rolling their eyes, but I really am not into letting him "scream it out", so I'm not sure how well this will go. He had been sleeping in our bed (more eye rolling) as he's outgrown his bassinet. So now in place of Henry is the monitor to which I have my ear plastered and am sleeping with one eye open. However, Henry is growing like a little (big) weed and sleeps like a starfish so Billy and I are sleeping on the edges of the bed!
Today Henry and I went to a friend's house for a play date with some friends from Glen Forest ES. You won't see any pictures from this play date as it was not scheduled for today, but for tomorrow. Thank you, Marybeth for laughing along with me. See you tomorrow!
Henry and I ended up going to lunch with a friend who lives in the neighborhood. I'm happy to report that this friend, whose mothering skills I respect without question, tells me that it is too early to put Henry in the crib. That's a relief as I am really not loving getting up every two hours. It's so much easier to just roll over and feed him, plus he sleeps a lot better. The only problem is that he does sleep like a starfish! Oh well, sorry Billy, I guess it's the air mattress for you for a little while longer!
This afternoon Dr. Ana, my acupuncturist-extraordinaire from Heavenly Bodies Clinic called to ask if I could do a couple massages ( I subcontract). She watched Henry while I had two clients. Henry had a little visit with Dr. Ana and lots of kisses from Romeo then nap time on the healing Heavenly Bodies Table.

No eye rolling from our way...it took us forever to get Brady in his crib. Then, instead of sleeping, we'd be up wondering if he was ok!
Have a great time on the playdate!
Hey Girl,
It just occurred to me that I may be in that "more mature" crowd as both kids are now at MSU. Emily wants to give Henry a Spartan Track sweatshirt, would your maize/blue blood allow him to wear it??? (Her dream came true, she is a Big Ten athlete.)
MY Baby...WOW I am old!
If I may opine to the crib vs your bed. Whatever feels right and gives everyone a good nights sleep, it is that simple. You know best.
How funny that you went to your play date a bit early. Glad you took the bonus day out...once you two and your gear are packed up and on the road you gotta go with it.
You would not believe the gear they have over here for les bebes, the strollers are more tricked out and have bigger wheels than some vehicles.
Henry is so dreamy Stacy! I'm sure you never tire of gazing and marveling over him.
Zorro says Bonjour!
