Snow is falling. I am finally updating the blog. Thought I would share with you what I am looking at.
Okay, flash-back,
Thanksgiving...
I actually started this post quite awhile ago. Then, well, between life happening and blog-writer's block I have been slack. Hey, I have an almost 2-year-old. Ive been told that I can use that as an excuse.
We started Thanksgiving by going for a walk in the neighborhood to our little nature trail. Dad found a "rope" swing-so fun.

We were blessed this year to be able to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends. Georgia's mommy and daddy as well as her grandparents were in attendance. Aunt Ruth and Jaclyn were there too as well as Uncle John. We really missed family who could not be with us but we did have a full house. Just the way we like it for the holidays.

Started the evening with a bit of champagne and conversation.

Some independent play (I think this is a developmental milestone).

Henry thought he would show Georgia what not to do with the TV cabinet...
...and she obliged.
Both children were absolutely perfect at the dinner table and yes, the ice cream was a hit!

A week (or two) before Thanksgiving my sister, Lisa, came for a visit with her friend, Chris. Henry immediately attached himself to Chris for the weekend.

The way it goes in our family (The Mayer Family-Billy was horrified), if you come for a visit, we never mind if you pick up a hammer while you're here. Billy and Chris spent Sunday working on the massage room in the basement. Hey, we made them chili AND Henry helped!! What more could they want? Well maybe not to be hanging drywall I suppose...
Thank you Chris, we love you!!
It was a beautiful weekend to be hanging out on the deck (and hanging drywall in the basement).
I have caved and allowed my son to fall for Thomas the Tank...there are worse things!
Henry and Aunt Lisa getting into the Christmas Spirit!
I am thankful for our health and good fortune. I thank God every time I hear our Henry's laugh-and he does that a lot (for which I am again thankful).
I am grateful, especially now, that we are both employed. So much sadness these past few years with friends looking for work.
I am thankful that many of the sensible things that my mother taught me are being passed down to Henry (you can get off the floor now, mom). Seriously, I think I am more laid back with Henry. Thank you mom.
I am grateful that I am able to help when friends are in need.
I am thankful to have finally found our corkscrew after living here for 2 months and I am especially grateful to friends who will bring me a corkscrew and share a glass (or two...) of wine and good conversation.
Even though they will never meet, I am thankful that when Henry looks at a picture of my dad he says, "Bud".
I am thankful that we went through selling and buying a house and I didn't actually murder anyone
I am thankful for good friends. Those whom I have kept over the years and those whom I have recently met and rekindled friendships.
Happy beginning of the holidays everyone!
