The problem with not updating the blog more regularly is that a lot can happen in between. The last time I posted, I was sick and it was about 20F! It is now 71F and we have had a snowstorm (although I think this happened before Rhode Island), a slumber party, a naming ceremony, a trip to the dentist and, oh yeah, my birthday!
So, above; our skinny snowman (more on him later)
Today it was Popsicle weather!
And, in case your wondering if Henry still has those amazing eyes...
...yep.
So, Georgia.

Otherwise lovingly known as, "Georgia-bean" by Henry. It's pretty funny, even when he's mad at her he will say, "No, Georgia-bean, that's mine!!"
Anyway, Georgia's baby sister (my Godchild, by the way), Sophia, arrived on December 22nd So we decided that we would let Georgia's parents visit one-child land again and have G spend the night. This is what I told G's parents. The reality was that I just wanted t play with her hair and see if I could mix up her PJ's with her play clothes like I did when she spent the night in October. Girls:even the PJ's are pretty!
They had a nap when G arrived then I put them to work making some Valentine's Day cookies. G is actually a master egg-cracker. This is a new skill for Henry as he has always had an egg allergy (which he no longer has).
Okay, you guys can have some sprinkles.
Okay, enough with the sprinkles.
Kids, take it easy on the sprinkles.
Enough!
So, to let them detox, a game of, "Help I'm stuck in this mountain, it's eating me, Georgia (or Henry), save me!!"
Followed by a run through the house with Georgia saying, "We're going to Paris" and Henry following behind carrying all her possessions. That was seriously funny and I cannot believe I didn't have my camera ready for that one. I think I was actually sweeping up sprinkles from in between the dishwasher and the oven. Fun times!
Then off to the tub. Okay, Stacey (G's mom), the reality is that this is the extent of the hair-washing. I guess you had already figured that out as I was still picking sprinkles from her hair at church the next day (tee-hee).Brush, brush brush. Henry decided to forsake his Cars toothpaste for Georgia's Pink Pony brand. That's okay, last time she spent the night, she fell for Henry's Thomas Toothbrush!
It was a great night. We love Georgia and I love that I can borrow her and get my girl-fix. And NOW, I have two to choose from. MY GOD DAUGHTER (did I mention?), Sophia and the original Georgia-bean!Next event:
Ethan John Carter's naming ceremony.
Beautiful night and, being a Gentile, wasn't really sure what to expect. It was wonderful with fantastic food and great people.
And, Jamie, if you still keep up with this blog, I am so embarrassed to say that at the very moment that Ethan's Jewish name was announced I had to run into the playroom to extract a certain Natalie-Jane and Henry from the play tent that they were using as a human burrito! So, I will be asking you. Sorry.

The rascals. Love Natalie-Jane's static-cling hair!
Natalie-Jane, Henry and Luka.

And here are the Popsicles/bribery that we used to get you all to pose for the pictures.
Next stop---DENTIST! Henry's first check up!
He handled it like a champ. especially when he got to wear the very cool sunglasses.

This is about the start. Around 4pm. This traffic continued into the evening. I heard that it took people about 5 hours to go 10 miles! Wow. And trapped in this big back-up were all the snowplows. Yay, Virginia!
Henry and I decided to hunker down in front of a fire for a picnic.
Of course this is before it became real and the electricity was still on.
Once we lost electricity and became, "colonial-family" we stayed in the basement.

The one good thing about a snowstorm, as opposed to a hurricane, is that you can just throw the perishables in the snow. That totally worked...ish.
For all the drama, there really was not a whole lot of snow (maybe 8"). Especially considering Aunt Lisa got 28" in a few hours.

Here's some fun that we had with all the snow.

The good news? School's closed! So we got to go sledding with Jamie and her friend.
Recognize the snowsuit from last year? No, I would not buy it two years in a row.
Another day of no school=play date with Joaquin!

I don't know why I found this amusing.
By the 2nd night with no electricity, we invited ourselves over to our amazing neighbor's house for dinner.

Jamie, meanwhile, took Henry and kept him busy by drawing a track for him, which he loved. And I buy all the tracks for what reason?
