Sailboats and Cows!

Annapolis, MD

This is why I love Northern Virginia:
One weekend we can go look at sailboats and watch a beautiful sunset on the water. The next weekend we can milk a cow!

Henry and I went to the Boat Show in Annapolis with the Haworth Crew. I was hoping to check out Annapolis and walk along the historical streets of our former United Sates Capital (little bit of trivia). Henry had one goal; "I want a green boat." Apparently to go with his "green guitar" (more on that later).

We did not immediately locate a green boat but this ice cream helped to
distract him for a moment. Carson and Henry in front of The Naval Academy
(Really? Really!)
Searching for the green boat...
"Found it!" Not sure if Henry is trying to figure out how to get it home
or perhaps, how to jump in the water...
Either way, it wasn't for sale,
Ahhhh...

That evening we ate at a local place which had an hour wait-fun with a 2.5 year-old! Actually, not so bad-we walked around to an ally behind the restaurant and found this cool mural! That took up about 5 minutes!
The next day we enjoyed the street/shops of Annapolis. Yes, I got sucked in to buying Henry a fighter jet. I guess it's to off-set his ballet lessons! (haha).
This past weekend we decided to go to "Farm-Day" which was hosted by
the farm that delivers our milk.
After church and before nap I told Henry we were going. First rule of parenting/teaching-only give a moment's notice of preferred activities. This translates to Henry not sleeping during nap time. Instead, he fell asleep approximately 10 minutes before we arrived at the farm.
Perfect.

In case you forgot how beautiful he is...
I digress.
So, we saw all the tractors and farm equipment and couldn't resist waking him up.
We are the parents, we're allowed!
Look how much fun he's having!
Henry says, "Yippeee!"
Okay so he does take a while to wake up (so do I), but he eventually got into it.
Not that I'm paranoid or anything, but don't his eyes just say, "I'm going to get you!"
Nothing says wake up like being plunked into a stranger's lap to drive farm equipment.
After the tractor ride I think Henry just wanted to be left alone...with the cows. And, yes, he still has the swirly hurricane on the back of his head.
Love it.
Starting to wake up. Does he have a choice?
The smell alone...need I say more?

And the cow said, "...yeah, you think you have it bad..."
Then we brought in the Alpacas.
A little more awake.
I think this did the trick. Not sure why we didn't start with the ice cream.

Now he's getting into it!

Where are my Cheerios?
Fun Day!
