FLA Part 1

I will have to blog the Florida trip in parts as we did so much and, true to form, there are about 5,000+ pictures to document each event!
So, we start with leaving VA for FLA!
All Henry had been talking about before we left for Florida was, "...riding in a blue plane...", "We're taking the blue one, right?", "I want the blue plane...". Did we luck out or what? Thank God we didn't have to have the plane repainted! Here we go!

And here is the sign that awaited us at the hotel! Ahhhhh. Made even sweeter since we left VA in the rain!

Yes, hotel. Despite the fact that I am from Florida and my mother still lives there, if you remember, our little charmer has an allergy to dogs. Ugh. Our FLA Vacations just became a bit more involved. Can you say, "CHA-CHING"?
So we decided to hunker down and suffer in this flop house on the ocean...
Henry's room to the right, Mommy and Daddy's to the left...

Yes, I think this will do...
The day we arrived we did naps and chilled around the hotel with Nonnie.

Next morning...
Henry says, "I want to go there..."

On the way to the beach we found this great pool at the hotel and had to check out the water slide.
By the end of our stay, Henry was flying down the slide solo. We were not even allowed to walk up the steps with him.

On to the the beach!
Soooo big!

Daddy and Henry starting to construct the vacation home.
And the little angel graced me with a smile. You may notice several pictures of Henry's back as he has gotten into the habit of turning away at just the perfect moment.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the 1,000 + pictures I take of him daily!
Let's Go Surfin'!

He even took of the water wings for this daredevil excursion!

Met up with some friends and their kids for Friday Night Happy Hour on Peanut Island!
Of course we had to take a boat to get there. Ugh, what a pain!
Thank you Lubeck Family for the transportation and good times!!

Henry eating his dinner and socializing with some friends.

Plenty to explore.

Peanut Island has a lot of great memories for me. When we were (a bit) younger, we all used to meet up there in our boats to have a little happy hour(s). Being responsible young adults, we always cleaned up after ourselves. So it was funny looking at this picture where I am gathering the pool/beach toys. Several years earlier I was at this same spot cleaning up "beverage" containers! How times change!Henry says, "One more minute, I want to stay for one more minute."Time to go! Henry hoisting the anchor.

We make sure the ride home is just as fun!
Daniel driving, Henry and Ben goofing off! Oh what the future brings!!
Nothing says the end of a great island happy hour like a rockin' song to boogie to on the way home!
Boat Boogie!
