First we celebrated Daddy's Birthday on the 6th!
Mmmmmwaa!

We'll start with this short clip. And, no, we did not bribe him with the ice cream!
Billy and I took Henry out to eat for his official birthday dinner.
Henry's party was a few days after his birthday so that we could include all his friends.
We decided to make it a coloring/crayon party. Inspired by a certain "crayon roll-up" that my dear friend, Karen, thought we could just "whip up". I was silly enough to say, "Hey, I've got a sewing machine, I think I could do it." To which Karen replied, "Yeah, how hard could it be?" I forgot to tell her that just because I own a sewing machine, does not mean I particularly know how to sew. It's like how many people can fix a leak just because they have a wrench (or whatever it is that you use to fix a leak...). Anyway, a few glasses (bottles) of wine later we produced (what I thought ) were pretty darn good crayon roll-ups. No they're not edible-google them if you need to know. Okay, I digress, so we covered the walls in the basement with paper and let the kids go for it. We'll see how many hate-mails I get from parents whose kiddos now think it's okay to color on the walls (tee-hee).
Here's the Ms. Karen's Posse sharing trains just like they do at her house (cough, cough).
...and Ben and Ellie and Simone
(which Henry pronounces, "Simooooone-with a slight inflection on the oooooo. So cute).
Coloring on the walls=yahoo!

Of course, best buddy Carson with the ever-elusive Charlie were there with babysitter extraordinaire who looks like she's getting a bit too cozy with Alejo.

The very beautiful and highly intelligent Georgia!
We will be going to her birthday party next weekend!

Hi there Ahmad!
Because I wasn't quite running around enough during the party and for some reason felt as though crayons weren't quite kooky enough, I decided to throw some paint into the mix! Actually I think it turned out kind of sweet. I made a card for Henry and had his buddies "sign" it with their hand print.

There's Natalie-Jane in the background who is toddling like crazy and bringing back memories of Henry's "drunkin' sailor" walk! Any day now!
Henry "signing" his own card.

Most of the kids (all of the kids?) have never played this game. It was so funny that they were like, "why are you putting this thing around my eyes?" "I can't see!!"

Happy Birthday to our Henry.
