4 month check on Monday.
Here's the lo-down:
length: 26.5"
weight: 17.9#
head circumference: 17"
prognosis: ...He's growin' like a weed. He has actually skipped a percentile (whatever that means) and start saving now for shoes and the teenage feeding frenzy!
This also meant-4 more shots in the leg! Sheeesh, the pain and suffering these little ones have to go through. Not to mention what I had to go through. Actually I think I made a bigger deal out of it than Henry. My friend Claudia came for moral support and to hold little H down. I looked at Henry in the Dr.'s office and explained that it was Claudia, not me, that wanted to give him these shots. Not sure how that worked as, afterward, he cuddled with her as they looked at the cars out the window. Oh well, it's done-until the 6 month check.
Tuesday was spent with daddy pretty much whimpering and sleeping with strict instructions from me to "...not put him down, ever". A little drama, ya' think? Henry thanked me on Tuesday with a screaming session from about 10am to 2pm. Not crying, SCREAMING. Nothing worked to calm this little guy down. After standing in front of the fish tank (usually works) for 30 minutes (I think the fish now need serious therapy), I did call the Dr. at around 1pm. I was exasperated that since Henry did not have a fever, he was dry, recently fed and couldn't be tired as he slept all day and much of the previous night, he must have brain damage from the immunizations. I waited for 20 minutes for a return call and when I got none, I put screaming Henry in the car and drove to the hospital to request an MRI. By the time I pulled out of our driveway, prince charming was sound asleep. Of course I couldn't feel relief until I pulled the car over and checked his pulse (you think I'm kidding, but I'm not). Okay, I'm sure that I have elicited a few chuckles at my expense. Fine, and I think it's pretty funny now too. But I will tell you, my ears are still ringing.
At that point I wasn't about to go home or go anywhere that I had to move him from his car seat; it was such a wrestling match to get him in the thing, so I drove around Alexandria until I found a nice little creek to park next to while Sir Screamsalot snoozed and I played with my new Blackberry (that's a phone, mom).
He proceeded to sleep for three hours then blessed me with his usual silliness late into the evening. The videos were taken early into the festivities.
enjoy-I did (kind of).
