Spring Sprang (Sprung?)

Yes, it happened.  And what do most people think of with the coming of Spring?  Ordering chickens, of course!
We made it through the year with our girls (well, okay, three survived).  And survive they did!  Producing 2-3 eggs a day.  That was not enough, apparently, Nonnie wanted to get in on the fun and get her 6 chickens!  Did I mention that in the state of VA, you cannot buy less that 6 chickens?  So, six it is.  And not just any six, I might add.  No!  Nonnie had to have the chickens that laid the BLUE eggs!

 Chicken Lovin'

And, playing football with the chickens.
He's an only child.
He's workin' with what he's got!
Time to plant the garden.
Oh yes, and he still loves Spider man (Shocker...)
Flash forward to this past weekend.
Beautiful crisp Fall days call for apple picking and road trips to the country!

After we picked the mother load of Fuji, Honey Crisp and some other variety that I can't remember, we headed for White's Ferry.
Henry thought it was pretty cool that he could be in a moving car (on a boat)
and not have to wear his seat belt.

And what else do we do on a crispy Fall Eve?  Start the fire pit and drink champagne (of course!)

And rock out by the fire.
Oh yeah, and pitch a tent.
The pitching of the tent, however, was in vain as our "outdoorsy" son lasted about 1 hour.
Something about a fear of foxes.
And that is a story for another time.
