Fall is Here!

We started the weekend off by going to The Sleepy Hollow Neighborhood Halloween Parade. Yes, it was as charming as it sounds. A good old-fashioned parade complete with a high-school marching band, hay ride, donuts and cider! At the stopping point, the band performed for us then let the kids play around with the drums.

We then went to Boo at the Zoo. It was great! $50, no animals (they were sleeping-with the exception of the big stuffed beaver...?walrus...?seal...?), pitch black (the lights that they have at the zoo are the low light pollution kind; great for the animals, not so great for keeping track of a running, did I say RUNNING 20-month-old in hoards, did I say HOARDS, of people). Billy and I were naked-nerve endings. Henry was a dragon who had a blast. So, now I can officially check Boo at the Zoo off the list. Next?

It was pretty cute watching Henry "trick-or-treat".

At this point Henry was over the top of his costume and opted for the dinosaur pajama-wearing- dragon -look

We also did some raking. Of course I bought us all matching rakes. I know. So fun...for about the first 15 minutes (for me). After that, I took on the task of photographing the event (hey, it's important!).

Henry's saying, "I think I am over this too-when can I start to work the camera, mom?"

"Oh, so you can jump in these things?" "That's fun!"
"...and throw them in the air?" "Super fun!!"
"...and RUN through the pile that daddy just made?" "Endless fun!!" "Kinda' like shoveling sand at the beach..., but not""Or I can just sit and look adorable."
Hanging out with friends:
Okay, here are some snippets from the house. We're doing outside and downstairs for now. If you want to see more you will have to come for a visit!
Home!
This is a good shot of Billy raking the leaves while we...don't.

Side yard.
Here we are eating on the deck. Love the deck.
The deck wraps around the back of the house. It has two sets of stairs. This is how we keep Henry contained, for now. Actually, as I type, Billy is installing the gates. This worked pretty well as an easel though.
Allessa and Santiago came for a visit and a ride around the deck (pre-leaf drop).
Here's our sun room. I think it will be Henry's artist studio. At least until I decide that I would rather not have crayon marks on the tile.
Hanging around the backyard.
